I believe that every problem with the Christian life can be traced back to a misunderstanding of God. We can attend church our whole lives and not truly come to know him as he reveals himself to be.
My own journey into that question led me—one curiosity at a time—through seminary and doctoral studies. I've spent years thinking about, writing about, and teaching about the Trinity, our identity in Christ, and how knowing God changes the way we live and love into the world.
That's what everything here is built around. Take a look around and let's connect.

My core beliefs center on the Trinity—Father, Son and Spirit—who exist eternally in perfect unity and love. God created humans to join in this love and enjoy Him forever. The Son, Jesus, became human, lived a perfect life, died an innocent death, and rose again to conquer death and sin. By placing our faith in Jesus for the forgiveness of sins, we are restored to a relationship with the Father through the Son, empowered by the Spirit. We receive a new identity as God's children and are invited to share in His life, love and mission. Please see the following for the fundamentals:

Spiritual formation is about being changed from the inside out. In Christianity, it means the Spirit works in us to make us more like Jesus on the inside, and that change shows up in how we live and act on the outside. This process is centered on Jesus and cant be achieved by our own strength; it happens when we let the Spirit do the work in us. For more on this, I recommend reading Renovation of the Heart by Dallas Willard.
Though it's often thought of us as just physical actions, this really has more to do with things like friendship, trust and compassion, It's about truly knowing someone and being known by them. Communication with compassion helps build this kind of connection because it leads to better understanding and brings peace between people. To read more on the topic, see How God Changes Your Brain by Andrew Newberg and Mark Robert Waldman.
At the heart of every person is a longing to be fully known and to deeply know someone else. You can see it even in a newborn baby who seeks connection. But fear, guilt and shame often cause us to hide our true selves. Finding a safe community where we can truly know and be known by others helps us heal and become whole.
