Why I Do This

I believe that every problem with the Christian life can be traced back to a misunderstanding of God. We can attend church our whole lives and not truly come to know him as he reveals himself to be.

My own journey into that question led me — one curiosity at a time — through seminary and doctoral studies. I've spent years thinking about, writing about, and teaching about the Trinity, our identity in Christ, and how knowing God changes the way we live and love into the world.

As a mom of six adult kids, I've had seasons of everything — diapers and dishes, doctoral studies and doodle life. He has been present in every one. Never wasting a moment. Never in a hurry. Never absent.

Core Beliefs

Centered on the Trinity — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — who exist eternally in perfect unity and love.

About Spiritual Formation

Spiritual formation is about being changed from the inside out. In Christianity, it means the Spirit works in us to make us more like Jesus on the inside, showing up in how we live and act on the outside. Recommended reading: Renovation of the Heart by Dallas Willard.

What It Means to "Know and Be Known"

At the heart of every person is a longing to be fully known and to deeply know someone else. Finding a safe community where we can truly know and be known by others helps us heal and become whole in Christ. Recommended reading: Anatomy of the Soul by Curt Thompson.
